A ferry searches for Huck's body the next morning on account of his "murder". Huck feels guilty for causing pain to those who care for him. Huck relaxes for three days. On day four he finds Jim, who thinks Huck's a ghost. Huck is happy to find company until he discovers that Jim is a runaway slave.
