Summary : To the Best of Our Knowledge: Paranormal Pop Culture

In this hour, Jonathan Lethem talks to Steve Paulson about The Exegesis of Philip K. Dick. The book is based on thousands of pages of notes and journal entries that the legendary science-fiction writer, Dick, kept after a series of visionary experiences. Dick wrote the "Exegesis" in an effort to come to terms with these experiences.

Then, Jeffrey J. Kripal is a professor of philosophy and religious thought at Rice University. He talks to Steve Paulson about his book, Mutants and Mystics: Science Fiction, Superhero Comics, and the Paranormal.

Next, Comic-book creator Gary Spencer Millidge talks to Anne Strainchamps about his book, Alan Moore: Storyteller. The book proiles one of the most influential creative forces in the history of comic books. Moore is responsible for groundbreaking series like Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

And finally, Investigative journalist Leslie Kean talks to Jim Fleming about her book, UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record. As Kean writes, 95 per cent of all reported UFO sightings can be explained as ordinary phenomena. But the remaining five percent includes UFO events that have been well-documented and officially investigated. [Broadcast Date: December 16, 2011]
